These perhaps are all the words of mine this site will post.This site contains more largely those meditations brought from other Christian writers, whose breaths are no more, voices unheard, and lives forgotten. Those having gone before, while seeing ahead, and with whom we seek to be joined above: may the grace they have been given extend to us through these thoughts.
Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) was an amazing man by any standards. He is one who deserves to be heard by all. As a scientist, he was one of the greatest of his time in the midst of a remarkable century. As a philanthropist, his thoughts for others remained until his very death and beyond in his legacy. As a human, he struggled honestly with the hardest questions one can ask. As a philosopher, he has left a legacy to be matched by only the greatest of thinkers. As a theologian, he took matters of the church and of religion most deeply to heart. As one forgotten, he has been ignored by those to whom he most fervently wrote. As an author, he is credited with singlehandedly changing the course of French prose. As a Christian, he wrote with the greatest passion and sincerity. As a sinner, he struggled openly and honestly with his sins, repenting and pursuing righteousness. And as a servant of Christ, he lived and died in faithful service, without pretense, hypocrisy, or arrogance.
It is he who will most frequent these posts. And it is he to whom we should listen carefully, for he speaks to those most like us, and offers hope and peace.
